My only mod - rear ashtray
May be someone has/ had the same problem :
Shortly after I got the car in 2000, I had to drive from Düsseldorf to Frankfurt as quick as possible.
Tire pressure set at maximum for high speed.
I drove at the Autobahn as fast as the situation allowed it, when I was scared by a sudden rattling noise at ~ 150 mph.
It disappered when the road surface got better.
I found, that the rear ashtray had jumped out of his lock.
MB service was amused and gave me the advice to remove it, being non-smoker and never carrying passengers.....
After it happened again, I added an additional flat spring to the back of the ashtray, which presses the insert into the lock.
Problem never occured again

I am quite surprised that you people with later models have the same problem...
It should be known .. or nobody at MB cares about little things after becoming DC.
I have another story about the smearing single-arm wiper... anybody -out of California of course- wants to know about ?

If it is just the rubber .... its worn out
If its the whole blade including the arm which is out of calibration, the wiper arm itself can be loose. Remove the cover at the lower end by pulling upwards, the arm is fastened by an allen screw ...
