Different between 04 05

Hi guys,
I am new to CLK and noticed the Navi command 05 looks bigger than 04 by picture. Anybody can confirm is bigger ? how to insert CD and DVD Navi ? in the trunk ? I can see 04 has a insert CD right above the Nav commend. What other different between 04 and 05 ? Quad exhaust ? other than this should be about the same right ?

Off the top of my head. From 04 to 05.

New navi, updated interior, HK speakers, bigger brakes, updated suspension, 18" wheels. Diff cooler.

Here is a good thread that lists the differences.

https://mbworld.org/forums/clk55-amg...ugh-years.html

To answer the navi question. The face my05 navi motors down, and there is a place for a CD and a separate opening for the DVD nav disc.

Its sold from Chrysler dealer to a small dealer locally since 2 months ago. (Calvary motor) Last time I called few days back, they still have it. I find red color for AMG is very rare but not so sure for CLK. What you guys think about this car ?

I believe the '05 coupe also got dual exhaust.

The thing is any color will be rare with an 05 coupe as there are only 247 of them stateside.

I personally would not buy that car. It doesn't have the original wheels, looks like it had an aftermarket stereo system in it, wheel center caps do not match either. While none of these are a big deal, it can show some hints to life it had.

It took me nearly 2 years to find a 05 CLK55 to buy. I did find two, but one was out of book value.

I just found this car again on autotrader, it is rather cheap. I would still spend more and hope to find a cleaner example.

Offer them 13k. I found my CLK55 in OK. Good luck on the search!

Thanks for the advise, actually the link you just sent is the same car as I mentioned earlier. I offered them $14500 no news yet. I just check the carfax report no good..... it had 3 accidents 2009 so i will pass.
The seller keep telling me the carfax is wrong and i should check autocheck.com. I believe 100% carfax, 3 accidents this car worth much less.

Not surprised to say the least. Remember though even if the carfax is clean, doesn't mean it was ever hit.

I have seen many cars with body work with clean car faxes.

Good luck on your search. I was looking for an E55 or CLK55, it was between coupe and power. Coupe won. So wish this car had your drivetrain though

I started to like CLK55 few months ago...... never thought about this car until I raced a CLK550. Yes, I walked that car easy by few cars. (my e55 is not stock) But I did like the way CLK looks. I started to search and found out CLK with dual or Quad exhaust and they are very rare in the market. Most of them are cabriolet. The only problem is wife complaining too many cars...... my idea is get one as collection, not daily driving so not rush to get one anytime soon. However, I find red is very different color...... if the dealer go for $14K or $14500 i might pick it up even with previous accidents. Can you imagine 3 accidents was on 2009 Feb, April and June !!! Left side, rear, right side. Its like 2 months each accident ! Or maybe just get CLK550 and add quad exhaust that will work........ about the same power and easier to find.

Easier to find, but not as cool.

I think the 550 also has a problem with its engine. Can't remember what, but it affected early runs of it. It is a sticky in the non amg w209 section.

You are right. CLK55 AMG is way cooler for collection purpose. Why would i want to collect a normal CLK...... no sense at all. BTW, the quad exhaust CLK55 doesn't come with the spare tire ?

Pretty sure I have a spare tire Now you have me second guessing myself. I'll have to check, if I remember it is just not a full size.

All CLK's came with a spare. Up to '04 it's the standard space saver, the '05 with the quad exhaust (coupe) has the collapsible spare with pump.

And come on, give a little love to the non- AMG CLK's guys, I see one in Dubai on a regular basis that's pretty badass
