ATLANTA, GA Dyno Day
Fellow CLK owners, I have a tentative date set in Peachtree City for Saturday, July 19th to use a dyno for a couple of hours.
Please let me know if you would like to join. With a group of 8 to 10 people we can get a rate of $50 per car for three runs or book the dyno for a four hour period for unlimited use.
If people are up for it, we may be able to put a meet together in conjunction with this for the Atlanta area.
Regards,
Schiznick

Schiznick,
I'd like to be there to see all that power on your new ride. I'll have to take a raincheck, though, as I'll be out of town the second half of the month.

Chappy,
The session went well for most. AllSpeed is a great facility. Great guys that love cars! Had a whole bunch of friends with Corvettes show up. Not a bad showing we had 8 people. I will post some pictures when I get back in town again. You can find a couple on the E55 board under my Dyno Issues posting.
Had issues with my E55. ESP would not let us get power runs in. It lit up like a X-MAs tree then kept applying the rear brakes. We are trying to get MB to figure this out for us now. It appears the new software does not have a dyno mode.
I will get it straightened out. I posted some pictures of the car after the windows were tinted on the E55 board. It is a blast to drive. I though that I would miss the coupe but no one told the E55 it has 4 doors.
The cars have come a long was since my 2000 E55 or my 2001 CLK55.

Improviz,
You can turn off the ESP and spin the tires all day long in first and second gear. The new E55 as well. The issue is that ESP is never truly off and when the car realizez the tires are not slipping but turning at high speeds in third gear and the front tires are not moving it tries to stop the rear brakes.
Very smart cars these days....
I never had any issues having my 2001 CLK55 on the dyno. This is something new.....

Huh...that's odd. What's strange is that a guy with one of the new Uber-S-Class cars
was able to dyno his successfully, at least I'm pretty positive he was. I think it was an S600, but am not positive on this; he was the one to break into the 11's, from New Jersey as I recall. Perhaps they have a different system in place, or he was able to figure out a way to disable it(?).
Oh well, I hope you can get it straightened out somehow. Would be interesting to see those numbers!
Good luck!
