Brake Question
As you guys know I'm fixing my suspension. I'm getting ready to put it all back together.
Is there anything I need to do as far as putting the brakes back together?
Any special instructions? Maybe add some of that non dust oil?
I have a lip on my dics, is that normal or should I think about replacing them? I still got life left on my pads. Do we have a brake pad wear sensor?
Thanks guys!

While I don't have a W208, I think I can help.
There are brake pad wear sensors on the W208 too from what I've read, but as far as I know the sensors don't have to be replaced even if your changing rotors or pads unless the light is on (the sensors are pretty cheap though).
If your pads have life left in them, then measure the rotor's thickness with a caliper or micrometer tool, there should be a stamp on the rotor hub stating the minimum thickness of the rotor surfacing... if it is 1 mm or more above that number then you still have life left in the rotors, you can probably get away with 0.5 mm above too... but make sure there are no cracks or rough surfacing. I would replace them if they are near the end of their life since you already have them out.

I just bought new OEM Clk55 rotors from mbparts on line...... and they come with a grey coating. Do I remove that with acetone, or just install with the coating.. and let the pads do the work?
Thx for letting me jack.... I'm doing my clk55 brakes this w/e. Pads are toast, rotors are past the limit.... but no CEL for pad wear sensors.....
