Dear Gents,
Since I couldn't find a proper steering wheel for my CLK I decided to remove it and take it to a specialist who has taken care of it. Below on the pics you can see the before and after states. I guess I'm not the only one who had worn out leather on the steering wheel.
I've spent about 2 hours total by removing the steering wheel and paid $65 for the refurbishing. The leather was treated properly and got repainted with the proper color leather paint and sealed with the proper protective layer.
You can see some pics on the removal process here: https://mbworld.org/forums/clk55-amg...heel-pics.html

Wow, what a difference! That was one worn out wheel there pal.

Yeah....what was disappointing is that it was worn out only at around 10 in clock early this year, but wearing got sped up quicly in the last months. I couldn't resist not fixing it anymore as everything else looks great in the ride...I wanted to have the leather/wood steering wheel instead, but I couldn't locate one in the proper color combination (that was offered to the SL only in that combination so it's very rare)Originally Posted by Kevwood
