2004 CLK55 Kleemann Build
#301
I finally have had a chance to drive around a bit. Love the car. I did a trans filter change/4qt fluid replace. And installed some sheep skins lol they are nice n soft. Got the amg dual mufflers but haven't had the heart to change em out yet. Thinking of replacing silencer instead with a wicked flow or similar unit. Also been investigating the belt wrap and alloy idler pulley kits not to change any ratios just maybe improve belt life/holding power. Any good ideas welcome. Last stop is a carbon fiber splitter lip spoiler for the front if there is a screw in one that fits well. The car drives like a dream and begs go. Thanks betrezra great ride.

Clk 55 amg purring still
Hey, I'm pretty sure it's stil under 60k miles. I recently changed to royal purple motor oil and did a drain and fill / change trans filter to freshen up the fluid. I tried to tighten the back bolt of valve cover to stop the little leak of motor oil onto the header which is so hard to get to. It's not bad just a drop every once in a while but the smell is unmistakable when it happens. I think it might be time for spark plugs but I'm not eager to start that job. One drive belt (accessory and supercharger belt) some sheep skins to cover the seats and armrest. And I had one of the new front tires blow out on me so i replaced the pair. They were new hankook fronts so I was very supprised it happened maybe foul play from when it was parked but it has new treads again up front. I seem to prefer driving it around in comfort mode for the trans. Helping keep it in lower gears. I have not even tried to turn off the traction control yet. I bought a used amg dual muffler exhaust to replace the eissmann but just can't bring myself to change it over for one not wanting anybody to touch it and the eissemann fits so well I hate to mess with it so the muffs sit in my garage. The car is an absolute joy to drive but I like to keep it parked most of the time to avoid the parking lots and road hazards. The paint has chipped and flaked off a little on spots like the hood vents and on the mirror slots where prep was difficult but the majority of it has held up well. Got some nano wax for flat paints from the chemical guys in ca and the darn stuff left a haze that has been a real pain to remove. But it gets compliments whenever I'm out either the color or just how cool the car is. Very fun. You did a great job on it. Thanks.

Wow..... didn't expect you to be with your ears on so quickly! considering you last post was over 2 yrs ago!
I'm glad you are getting alot of service out of her. Hopefully you can see I did not cut any corners...... even having Kleemann in CO do a one-over before I sold her.
I'm into a C63 507 Ed... in same color matt silver...... and just picked up an e36 M3 for track use........
Take care.

I would be all in for the C63 if it were available. Im kind of confused on the decision to go with a Bimmer for track use though.
They are easier to tune and have a lot more performance aftermarket upgrades available. But once a Benzman Always a Benzman. We can overcome obstacles with a little help.
What happened with the Z06, That must have been fun as well.
Cheers

Glad to see your still tracking. Moving and feeling tire shredding cars.
i been real busy preparing for a new shop and plugging away at the Benz when time permits.
I had some quality time with CV lockdown but a close family member passed.
Still crying.
Wish all the best
