New CLK 55 AMG Owner!
Hey everyone Just bought an 01 CLK 55 AMG. Love the car so far but it does have a few little issues i need to work on. Already found alot of info on this site and plan on doing a lot more research.
issues:
Brake light switch is broke or something is up with the fuse panel no brake lights or cruise control. New switch is on its way.
Heater/AC control EC light is stuck on if I press reset it gives me a one and another number on the other side. I can press Defrost and hot air blows and everything pops up but no control other wise. Looks like I should check the feron and make sure it is full.
If anyone has any advise I appreciate it! I will continue looking though the forums and the diy section for more info!

I may be misreading your post, and if so, just ignore me. It sounds like you're using the REST button. REST isn't "reset". REST is the residual engine heat utilization button. REST is used during winter months to continue heating the interior (albeit for a short while) after the engine has been turned off. It can also be used to bring up one of the HVAC diagnostic modes. As long as you're putting the HVAC into diagnostic mode, the Freon pressure level should be an indication as to whether it is low. Post what you're seeing. The Freon's barometric pressure is displayed in diagnostic code #7. If all of this sounds very strange, taking a look at this webpage should make things a little clearer. In addition to #7, post what you’re seeing for codes #1, 3, 4, and 5. With that information, the problem may be clearer and one of us can help you.
