Replacing strut mounts?

I was wondering if there is any merit in such an endeavor?

It depends on a lot of factors. You can inspect them if you have free time. Mine is an 04 and they were pretty much brand new when I took them apart. Only 35k miles though.

I have more miles and was thinking rightly or wrongly that the suspensions on the CLK55 probably take more abuse. How long did it take to pull off the struts?

Not hard. Probably 2hr the first time you do it.

You will need a spring compressor to change the top bushing, or bring the strut assy to a shop to do for you.

Ordered my parts online to save $$

Plus the special socket to take the top nut off. Take it to a shop...not too much and it saves you a lot of aggravation usually.

Hmmm wonder why yours were shot and mine were ok. Could be the roads or the weather
