hey guys whats the best way to get more power out of the bone stock exhaust in a 2003 w209 clk55.i have the single sided exhaust.i live in california too.i do not have resonators but only 4 cats and exhaust.would i get more power switching to high flow cats?

This http://www.eurocharged.com/ or http://oetuning.com/ find the clk55. You can switch to high flow cats but there isn't a lot to gain from the exhaust I don't think. Some nice headers would probably make more of a difference. MBH have what look like the best around http://www.mbhmotorsports.com/CLK55-...e-Headers.html but I would personally go for the kleemann ones, contact cory on the forum. They are a much better $/hp ratio. Anything cheaper and you are heading into nasty junk territory.
The problem with the CLK55 exhaust is the manifolds are the exact same parts that are used on the non-AMG V8s. On a W209, the issue isn't as bad as the W208. The theoretical airflow of the 55 is less than 10% greater than that of the 500. It's not the best, but livable. On a W208, the exhaust manifold was designed for an engine that is 27% smaller. Picture an Olympic sprinter who has to breathe through a straw.
