last week my axle slipped out of Quaife LSD diff, anyone else had this issue? Oem c-clips can't be used with this LSD, what are you guys doing to keep axle in place. Appreciate any advice.

Car is 2002 w208 clk55 and using qdf7v quaife LSD

I had a similar issue on 3 E55's I fitted Quaifes to. I ended up using thick rubber o-rings, lots of grease and a heavy rubber mallet. Once they're in you'll need 2 pry bars to get the shaft out but I figure if the o-ring ever failed it wont do anywhere near the damage a metal clip would do.

The car I did that fix to first has been going 5 yrs without popping a drive shaft.

The stock ones work you just need to expand them or stretch them till they click in.

sorry i dont understand, where would c-clips go? the quaife diff is closed off. any pics?

also, i'm contacting Birds Auto in UK about this. apparently they have a kit specifically for this.

the clip is a wire in the shape of a "C" ... so u put ur fingers in the opening of the "C" and open it to the shape of a "U" but not that much. u keep bending it till and installing axle until it clicks in.

i'm told circlip don't work with quaife unit, so you were able to install them without any additional work or parts?

I have 2 quaifes and I have no problems with the advice mentioned ... ill try and take pics tomorrow.
