just the flares? or the whole kit? I think just the flares will look a bit out of shape.... I love the DTM look but the Black Series flares fit the round clk better. What is he gonna use? plastic or custom panelwork?

i REALLY like the DTM look. not the norm and totally unique to whats out on the road

i think for now, he just want to do the flares to make the overall look more sportier/meaner. he likes the wider fenders, as was thinking of just adding spacers to his wheels to fill out the extra room......custom fiber reinforced polymer

are DTM or the Black Series fenders/side skirts mostly bolt-on, or would it be difficult to modify? i know price would be somewhat expensive, but might be cheaper than custom making the fenders

the issue is that the front fenders are bolt on, but won't fit the bumper and sideskirts. the rear fenders are a completely different problem as the OEM ones are part of the shell of the car and aftermarket ones don't really exist. There are complete bodykits available but one way or another its either gonna be hard or very expensive....

+1, the car is going to look mashed together if it just gets flares.

i think the DTM flares (B) would be a lot easier to incorporate into existing bumpers without too much modification. unlike the black series flare (A), which flows INTO the bumper

A definitely.
IMHO, B runs the risk of looking like a bolt on 'ricer' upgrade, which really cheapens the look more than enhances.

without changing the bumpers too there will be a huge amount of modifying actually... the DTM has wider bumpers as well... I know what you are saying how the flares run further on the Black Series, but the idea behind them is the same.....

so you dont think the front and rear bumpers could be stretched enough to accommodate the wider fenders? i think he was just planning on doing front & rare fenders and the side skirts. Also, how big of a spacer do you think he would need for the wheels? Thanks

I never liked the DTM. Too bulky and nothing smooth about the lines

Wow, not to be rude, but that kit is horrifying on a Benz.

I think the extreme kit has some class and baritz but the bumper cover does not flow into the fenders at all. Rear quarters will require extensive modification (butchering) for the install
The best body kits are produced by o.e.m. parts but prices are comparable to purchasing a true BS etc...

a is good as well, Gator

Unless all the supporting mods are there (brakes, wheels, etc etc) either option would look stupid. If you go all out I'd do option A.

Option B is stupid unless you're making a track car or something.
