CLK 55 Oil drop on Headers

CLK 55 AMG

After 3 weeks without using the car today I decided to take it for a spin and after 10 minutes of drivin it around my urbanization when I parked it i noticed a strange smell coming out of the car I decided to pop the hood and search for a problem and I noticed oil drops from one of the spark plug coils? dripping on to the headers hence caused the smell.

What could it be? The gasket job was done a while a go I think i might have to torque out the bolts in the engine valve since the job was done by me and i did not torqued out the bolts with the fear of over torquing it...

Any help? Thanks

The valve cover gasket(s) is/are probably leaking.

I tighten to 5Nm which has worked great on the 2 valve cover jobs i have done.

Remember, there are 4 valve cover gaskets not just two. You need to replace all 4. The top 2 will be fine with seal gaskets but the bottom two you need OEM gaskets. This is where you are seeing the oil come from.

Thanks

I managed to torque the bolts a little bit more, and the small oil dripping went a way I got a new problem... the alternator... I will start a new thread on it.

S Class
Both cam covers have additional covers on top of them which are done with sealant, really common on 113 engines v8 and 112 engine v6
