I bought a dip stick from eBay mb 120 589 07 21 00 and I want to know if anybody has one and what is the measurement for a 04 clk55 amg. And how does it work.tia

There is a chart on WIS (factory repair manual) which tells you how much oil to add or take away depending on your reading. Just for example for the C32, levels of 171mm to 173mm is optimum. Add oil if it is less than that. Take it away if it is more. Different engine but probably very similar. I haven't installed WIS since my computer upgrade so I haven't bothered finding the CLK55 chart. Oh and don't leave it in when the engine is running. The dipstick hole is the one by the firewall with the large red plastic cap. Not the one below with the difficult to remove cap with the lock pin, that is for transmission fluid.
Just a question for anyone else, how does the dipstick compare to the crappy "oil level ok" "add 1 liter" etc messages on the dash display?
