My old set up was a square setup running the rear CLK430 AMG 8 1/2 X 17 all around with 245 F and 255 R, I think this is the best setup

Current
CL55 9 X 18 and 9 1/2 X 18 with 245 F and 265 R (would have gone 255 but wrong weight for car)

Don't remember offset.

thanks for the info. the offset is sort of the most important part, but i appreciate everything you have shared thus far. i still have some time to get the rest figured out.

your front wheel and tire width is much different from what everyone else is saying is possible on the w208. pretty much everyone else is saying that 235 is the widest that can fit on an 7.5 or 8 inch wheel in the front; assuming we are trying to keep a similar overall diameter as stocke. but thats where the offsets come in i guess for clearance. also, how much front camber are you running? the camber might buy you some additional fender clearance for a wider tire.

Good to know, thanks.
You run that as a square setup or those are just the fronts?

No, I have 265/35/18 pss on 9.5" wheels in the back 32mm offset works for the back as well.

BTW do you keep you traction control on or off during track ? I know you can't really fully turn it off. Which setting gives you best lap time ? and your KW V2 setting ?

Since my car is fully strip out its really light at the back end. I put full siff on the front and 4 clicks from full stiff on the rear.
Esp on but never had an issue with it. On v2, I like to have the back stiffer and lower. This was best setup for me to reduce understeer. I usually run front softest setting and rear on half stiff (I think 8 clicks). I was planning to play around with it more this year but unfort haven't had much track time. On separate thing, I recently picked up my other dream car, ferrari 360 spider with manual. Great car but made me appreciate clk55 even more

Cheers,
Recaro sells rails for all their seat, you need to buy an adapter I think its http://www.bkauto.com/R_9040_Seat_Tr...r_p/r-9040.htm to get it to work. You will need to bend the angled end to line up the hole.

In general, installing recaro pole positions in w208 is same as Porsche 996.

The 3.06 gear was from c32 amg, we actually use same quaife diff qdf7v. It's plug and play... The quaife diff though is a pain though, you will need to install s"screw" to hold in place!

are you stuck with 225 width tire up front or are you able to run wider without rubbing? not sure if the spacing in the front of the 208 is the same it is on the 202.

thanks.
I run 235 front and 265 back, I also have 5mm spacer in the front to clear bbk. I get some rubbing now with Bridgestone 71r, might change camber to see if it helps.

if you didn't have the spacer would it still rub? is it rubbing on the actual fender or suspension component, or just the plastic fender shrouds?

you can go 275 in the rear. it depends on the wheels you have and the offset they have.

Quant,

Pics look good!

With QDF7V, was there problems? ie with holding in axle shafts etc?

I assume QDF7V suits original 2.82 as well as the 3.06 210mm crowns?.

3.06 gear with diff with no issues, only issue is with axles "slipping" away from diff. Reason is that original diff is open which allows the use of c-clip to hold axles in place. To help with this, birds auto in the UK developed a solution using a bolt that holds axles together. I track car and it's been holding up but not ideal.

Nice sun roof delete kit. Hows your seating position ? too high ? I use brey krause side mount instead of Recaro's to get about another inch lower to the floor if you need to get your seat lower.
