Roll cage kind of finished but still need to clean up back area to look nice. Will also put video on YouTube from my run yesterday around lime rock with Ferrari car club. Car felt good until belt ripped into pieces I missed second half day around track and oh yeah missed the first day of track because fuel pump relay went bad and car won't start this was after shop doing cage took 2 weeks longer than expected to finish and had to pick up car the night before and they are 400 miles away from me. So much easier if I bought Porsche and just tracked that but having old Benz passing Ferrari around track is priceless

Thanks! I would say car now is comparable to 996 gt3 / turbo in overall performance.
Got the seats from another member here who had them in his clk BS.
Home tracks for me lime rock and Watkins glen.
WGI is one of my favorite tracks. Just came back from there. Unfortunately, I am not able to take my car to Lime Rock. Exhaust is too loud! Do you have a video with you car on WGI?
thanks for complements. finally put up my video from lime rock, sorry for bad quality. i'm always running late to these things and never properly setup my camera (most of the time i forget it )
im sure i have a video somewhere from Glen, but need to look for it. i usually do around mid 2:20s. i will try to go back again this year but havent looked at schedule yet. will let you know when i do.
Sorry for late response, going through some crazy times at work. Also doesn't help car is waiting for its kleemann headers to get fixed as I developed a leak. On the paddles, please send me pm with your email so I can forward info I have. It's very similar and common with slk32 and crossfire crowd.
This does indeed look like fun, If your rolling past P cars (which I love). Your making the star shine. How much difference did the roll cage make? The Benz Frame is rather unique as it it is uni-body in two dimensional sections plus has separate sub-frame bolt up for front and rear axles. (designed for sound and vibrations)
Tying the rear nearest the rear strut and the front pillar mounts seems best.
Any snapshots?
One Curious Gator, Cheers
Hey Quant, following...I'm on the outset of my track car transformation, which will essentially steal every one of your good ideas, simplify, and add a little lightness.
love the seats. You seem confident behind the wheel regardless of how much track time you have under your sleeves but hey good driving there. Was disappointed with there being no sound to the video but as you mentioned you didn't have the right camera for the video. Keep it up man.
Thanks guys, I promise next year I'll properly post videos of my track events. This year has been crazy all around.
HPDEclk55, feel free to give me shout if you have any questions. I'll be glad to help where I can. Biggest recommendation is kW v2, lighter wheels, stop tech pads + ss lines and motul brake fluid. This will be cheapest way to get car track ready.
I did both roll cage and sunroof delete at the same time, not sure which provided best benefit but car def feels and handles better. It's Not needed but it's all part of "bigger" project. Goal for next year is cf driveshaft + clk dtm/slr tcu tune from renntech. Oh and fan delete.
