OP you're taking the same motor, boring/stroking it, and putting it in a much lighter car, so the results are fairly self explanitory.
Now if by chance you mistyped 07 and cl550, then it's a bit closer. The power curves of the 5.5 >>>>> 5.4, but there's still probably a 500+lb difference.
If by chance you meant 04 CL600, then things get interesting. The CL should easily win, assuming it puts its power down. 500+hp and 4400lbs vs 360hp and 3650lbs.

Clk w209 AMG
I want pros and cons. Differences between the two.. I'm about to buy one just want to know what to expect form the CL 500 W215 car compared to the CLK 55 W209 which is my favorite car so far!

Expect to go very slow in the cl500. It will be very comfortable however. You will need deep pockets to repair the various luxury features that break. Suspension will be the main concern. Both engines are pretty reliable. I would definitely take the clk55 or at least consider the cl600 or cl55. Also that instrument cluster? There is a lot of ugly there.

Apples to oranges despite their looks. The CL500 is a huge 2 door S class, a grand tourer that happens to have 2 doors. It's also much heavier then you probably think, and 300hp/base model components won't make it very sporty. Personally I'd only ever get a CL V12 tt, for a comfy highway monster.
The CLK is a light-ish sports coupe first and formost. Can be fairly well optioned, but doesn't have nearly as many as the CL. Going to the CLK55 and CL500 only amplifies the differences. Light, heavy duty hardware, higher hp sports coupe vs minimal acceptable hp, heavily optioned, grand tourer. The only similarity is honestly 2 doors and 4 headlamps.

I always like looking in the w209 amg forum in I'm addition to the regular w209 forum to see what people are doing to their rides. Especially since I love the clk63 BS.

Not to argue, but I find some of these threads quite interesting. Even though they are definitely apples to oranges I still enjoy reading about peoples opinions on other cars they have driven. Even if it is comparing a barge to a speedboat.
