A strange rocking feeling, like a misfire

When I stop the car (like at red light), there is an intermittent very light push, like a very light sideways rocking, coming from the engine. Maybe once in 2-3 minutes. My mechanic also felt it, he compared it to a minute misfire, he ran diagnostics and found NO codes. What could it be?
This is not felt when the car is moving.

usually a plug or wire would throw a code...i would think it could be a very small vacuum leak, a fuel filter clogged, mass airflow sensor a little dirty(also would probably throw a code) or an engine or transmission mount failing (if its constant)

I'd check the torque on the plugs first. If the plugs were not torqued properly it's not unusual to find a loose one. Also, if the threads are gunked up with oil or anti seize you can get a misfire at idle. If your valve covers or breather box covers are leaking you can get enough oil and crap on the coils to cause a misfire at idle.

How many miles/km on the car? Mine is a C207 rather than W212, but at just over 100k mi EVERYTHING in the rear was completely destroyed. I was actually in denial. I've never needed to do rear suspension on any car I've ever owned, amd when I did, it was barely noticeable & the car was out of my hands before it was an issue.

With this car, it literally feels like my subframe isn't bolted in. Brand new subframe, perfectperfectly round wheels, current Conti tires, yearly alignments, new Bilstein B4's, factory springs, end links, spring control arm bushings....means nothing. ALL of the control arms are DEAD. And you guessed it, I've had people look at it when I 1st noticed the feeling (as again, I simply could not believe it at this mileage), & naturally nothing was obvious to them, as they're looking for huge gashes and chunks of missing rubber rather than fair hairline cracks & disturbances.

If 212 rear suspension is anywhere near as laughably horrendous as 207 rear suspension, you probably need everything back there like I do regardless of me never pushing this car anywhere near it's limit. Check the condition of EVERY bushing as @TimC300 noted.

Does it still rock in Neutral?
Common issue with these W208 cars ( especially the V8 ) is the engine mounts.
