Fog lamp fitment on a W209 55 model

Fog lamp fitment on a W209 55 model
Hello members. I find it quite odd that the fog lamp mounts by two screws with a small like plastic protrusion that ''clips" into a groove in the bumper for it.
Anyone can assist me with photos please as I am thinking something is probably missing on my car's bumper. I don't want it falling off or out and getting driven over. I think its a bit stupid but I fitted longer bolts above the thread like metal clip with a flat washer and then a spring washer under the bolt of the head and on the other end I used a lock nut.
I would greatly appreciate your photo as well as input guys.
