Yeah, I don't know about black on silver, but I would like to see silver on silver. Black on black looks good.

i was thinking the black grille would look good 'cause the stock grille is black with chrome lining.. if you paint it all silver, it's a like a honda ricer taking a paint can at it... just doesn't feel like it belongs on a MB then.

AMG Bred...Yeah i actually started a thread couple months back asking the same question. I wanted to do the same exact thing on my Pewter, but people have advise me that it only looks good on a Black car. Well if you do decide to do this, your going to have to color match the grill to the same color. It may look good. But yes, post pics if you do this.....

I thought that Brabus grill was supposed to be made of CF? I think a painted grill would look bad, and I'm having a tough time figuring out if a custom CF grill (Ie. silver in your case) would look incredibly hot or incredibly stupid. I'm getting one of those custom CF interior kits for my car and was also debating the idea of doing something with the grill...

AMG Bred, I cant tell the differenc, HAHA

Oh, BTW, I remeber asking you about your fogs last time. I know its illegal to turn on 4 fogs during the night, but wow, I looks really nice. Its not actually that bright. I was actually tempted to change the fogs to xenon fogs, but i was afraid it will attract too many attention. I'll post some pictures for you this weekend if it doent rain here in Los Angeles. Thanks

Thumbs down Myself personaly, I'm not too hip on the black grill...

In my opinion, it sort of gives it that "race only" look, (the same way black wheels do) and that it just doesn't match the rest of the car. I think that it's just too much contrast. Now coincidentally, I was at the local dealer earlier today, and there was a silver SL55 with a body colored grill, and it looked spectacular. It looked reeaallyy nice. I guess it comes that way stock, but I had never noticed before. I thought about it, but being that my car is Pewter, I'm concerned that it might not look quite as well. By the way, here's a strong argument for having the grill painted... Ever since my grill's plastic, errr uhhmmm > >cough-cough<< "chrome" started peeling, I've noticed that allot of MB cars have the same problem. Sure warranty will replace it, but it's a safe bet that the new piece will peel as well...

Best regards,
Matt

p.s.) Anyone having trouble with what would seem to be an above average amount of paint chips? (Like me...)

I'll try to play around with PS later today. Your car looks hot either way; I don't think the effect is pronouced enough though to warrant doing all the work. I looked at mine yesterday and still think the grill would look hot in CF.

I think we all need is the CF trim piece like on the K8 CLK (probably custom made, group buy?):

wow!!! look at the add-on CF lower lip.

Harris told me that those grilles are for their show cars only and not for retail.. for us to achieve that look, we'd have to send down the chrome and wrap the grille in CF.. sounds like too much work for me.

Oh you hadn't seen that?!!! Yeah I don't think brabus will sell the K8 parts, but I'd be willing to take the lead on a custom CF trim piece if some of you guys would be interested in some sort of group buy cost sharing. Here's another pic of it:
