Dipped Beam, left

I have a 2005 w209. Got this message last night:

Dipped beam, left

Is this just a bulb or something else?
Any steps I can take to diagnose?

Yes I did actually. But due to my limited knowledge I was unsure if it was just a bulb or if unit needed to be replaced.
I thought by asking a question I could figure out quickly which it was.
I actually got useful info on another forum including which brands to get.

I do but I am so sick of new post with answers out there all over the place. If you click that link and cant find the answer to this problem please take your car to the dealer and have them fix it.
