Couldn't Tell The Difference Between Clk55 And Clk500!
i saw a black clk55 amg on the other day and i was stunned by it's beauty. this asian guy was driving quiet fast with that car on the street. neways.. i saw black clk500 today but i couldn't tell it was clk55 amg until i saw clk500 badge on the back. i'm amg fan but clk55 amg will not be worth it's money if one is not a HUGE fan of amg.

2001 clk55
Your right - visually there are not a lot of differences. There are some - wheels, tale pipe, etc.
I don't think the attraction and price premium to the CLK55 is that people are "fans of AMG". Rather, the power/feel of the car itself. No one is going to look at those two cars and see $15K +/- difference in value. However, drive both and you will absolutely feel a difference. Like the CLKs that prededed the new style - true beauty is more than skin deep. And under the skin of nearly exact clones, the 55 is much more car than the 500.
I looked at both, and just bought a 2001 CLK55. In my mind, that is the best value currently available in a premium sport/GT coupe. They can be had for the price of a 2003 CLK500 - and they are one hell of an automobile.

too many to list
Both cars are superb, however, if you drive the clk500 at 54,000 and 302 hp the throw you in your power isnt as great as the AMG'd power of the clk55 at 362hp if your willing to pay the extra 15,000 or so. But if you drive them both, you will surely feel the difference. Much like the S500 and the S55.
