I started getting this code after my fuel sending unit cracked and I replaced it. I am going to buy the part and replace it so I can pass smog but I would like to get it put back togather correctly. Anyone have a diagram of what is supposed to be connected and where they go?

Thank you very much sir. I haven't been able to get my EPC working yet. This dosen't really show anything connected to the valve though. Ill have a look when I get home and see if I can figure it out.

So as far as I can tell there is nothing to connect to the valve. Could it be that it vents there? I am lost. I am going to buy the new part, install it and hope it passes smog.

Correct.. The charcoal canister shutoff valve does not connect to anything on your car, other than the charcoal canister itself (where it sits).. Some cars like the R171 SLK might have a short tube on it, but that is only because they are mounted under the car by the rear axle without much protection. If you really wanted to go through and protect it from further dust intrusion/contamination, you could rig up some sort of air filter on the end of it.

First.. if you have a way to actuate the valve, check to make sure it actuates properly.. There have been many cases over the years that I have found the wiring in those adapter harnesses to be swapped causing it to open when it is supposed to be shut and vice versa.
What codes are you getting? Major/minor purge system leak?
