CLK-DTM kit available for normal CLK55?

Do you think they would ever sell the DTM bodykit seperately for normal CLK55's? Im sure there must be a way of getting hold of one seperately.

they won't be building the DTM street car just by taking a "regular" 209 off the line any more than they used regular 208s to build the CLK-GTR.

Surely that kit can be bolted onto a 209 straight? Perhaps with some wheel adjustments.

I would imagine there will be alot more work done then just bolting it straight to the car. There will alot of custom work, to the fender, and plenty of cutting. There is no way you can just bolt that kit onto a 209.

Beyond the problem of cutting up your 209 to get the "kit", as you keep calling it, to fit (They are hand made body parts to fit on a uniquely designed frame), there is of course the problem of obtaining unmounted body pieces.

These will not be available through a parts search at the dealer, and the organization that makes them is very tight about letting things go to the right people. Trust me. First show me that you can get a Polo Shirt with the company logo, then maybe I'll believe that you can get the body parts.

If you're really serious about duplicating the kit, I'd suggest flying out to one of the VIP exhibitions and taking enormous amounts of pictures. Then, take it to someone very good with fabricating body pieces to duplicate. Or wait until tamiya comes out with a scale version and have it scaled up for your car.

Short of moving to Germany and acutally placing an order for a real one, the above is probably your most cost effective choice.

In the end, your 209 is just about as similar to the DTM street car as it is to the DTM race car

Thanks. I was unaware that it was built on a unique frame, that clears alot of things up. It just looks so damn good

I'm getting the DTM kit custom made for my 208, just saving up the change right now. If you want it bad enough, it can definately be done. Mine is going to cost about 10k canadian, so about 7k US(that's what my friend quoted me anyways)

I keep scouring German e-bay Plus, I've seen where they auction items off their website.
