CLK 430 Cab Designo
Switched over from G500 to CLK55...DAMN!!
Uhh, as in a good damn, that is. This CLK is my third. My last four cars have been a 2000 CLK320, 2001 Designo 420 cab, 2002 G500 and now a silver 2003 55 coupe. The leap from the G500 to the CLK was huge, the two cars cannot even be compared. Anyway, I have yet to step on the throttle more than 50%, cos I have yet to learn to tame this beast. But I love the car, the style, the, engine, and above all the handling. The car came with 18" wheels, but they are not the twin spoke design that I used to see in the US. I cannot see to go in a straight line or make a turn without the car fishtaling for a second or two! I AM NOT COMPLAINING. The car came from Europe, and having moved back hom from California, I still have to get used to a few Euro spec touches. By the way, do any of you guys know how to change the Linguatronic (VCS) language. I think mine came in German, and nowhere in the manual (COMAND) or Normal does it list the option to do so.
BTW, this is my fourth car with COMAND, and it's about time I got one with the TV function that we ere all missing in the US. It's pretty neat.

Congrats on the CLK55! I'm sure someone will be able to walk you through the process of changing the language. I beleive there is a way to cange both the console and command. Not sure about the Euro-spec car.
As alway, post some photos when you get a chance.

On mine I can change the language by going into the menu on the speedometer. You can change mph to kph also. Enjoy that throttle, there are few cars out there with that kind of power.

Thanks guys...
Once I get some time off and the weather is agreeable, I will take some pics. In the meantime, every time I get in the car, I have a big smile on my face...can't really say the G was that much fun to drive!

2001 CLK55
I totally agree!!! I have had mine since Oct 31 2002 and Im nearing the 50k mark and every time I get in it to drive to W**K even its like Heaven all over again!! CLK55 for LIFE!!! Once you experience CLK-euphoria there's no turning back. You'll get tired of the rice beaters trying to race you but you never get tired of Hammering the pedal and dropping down a few gears and it starts pulling as tight as a thong on a 450 pound woman then you get the triangle of common sense asking why a second later it understands and you are off to 60 80 100 whatever you are willing to take it too!!!! as you calmly wave to the import you just left awestruck and depressed!! There's no replacment for that feeling IMHO!!!
Congrats on your Purchase!!! Welcome to the Pearly Gates!!!
