2001 CLK 55 power steering fluid renewal
Has anyone on here done a drain/refill on their power steering? I've seen methods on Youtube involving using a turkey baster, removing old fluid, adding new fluid, then turn wheels lock to lock. I'd much rather drain the system (if that is possible) and add new fluid and get the air out of the system. Any comments in either direction would be appreciated. My power steering is very noisy when cold, but quickly goes away. Would like to try new fluid before a new power steering pump. Thanks all..

If it is contaminated then loosen the return line and flush with 1 quart before installing new fluid.
There is nothing special about the PS fluid on these cars that I am aware of. The reservoir had sealing issues at one point in production.
Cheers, Gator
