Question electrical problem

HI all. The temp display in my clk 55 is starting to lose parts of the display until the car is fully warmed up. Has any one else had this problem.

I have not experienced this, but do a search and you'll find this symptom is indicitive of a bad instrument cluster.

As far as I know, the entire cluster must be replaced. Your dealer should take care of it under warranty.

Chappy is right,

I am in the process of getting mine replaced it is covered under warranty Thank God!! Not a cheap fix still waiting on the part for a week now .

Mine was flaking both the clock and the temp and then they started swapping info i.e.

temp guage : half of six and two bars for an eight (with the : being the middle of the clock )

and the clock would read a + (for the temp) and 3 digits incomplete for the time.

Let me know if you have more questions

Thanks

Cluster came in a few days ago and was installed yesterday. Works great once again although it took 5 hours to fix . It just gave me a chance to drool over the Sl55 they had for sale.

I am getting a check oil warning not to do when vehicle is running since the cluster was swapped not sure what if anything is wrong yet.

I will keep you updated as necessary.
