Is there a way to bypass the key transponder?

I own a 1967 w108 but may be able to get my hands on a 2002 clk55 drive train. Could I use my original key and get this engine to start? If not I will find another motor to swap in it. I do not want a carborated motor. I have no idea about all this anti theft stuff. I would just try to use the pins of the ECU that are required to get the car going. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Anthony

Forget about the factory electronics if you are putting the drivetrain in a classic car. Just use a standalone ECU and TCU. I'm using a Holley Dominator EFI, and a PCS TCM-2800 from Sound German Automotive.

You won't have things like ABS or traction control, but the engine and transmission will work great.
