ExPert Advice Needed!!!

Guys, as someone had said in one of my earlier posts, I probably shouldn't be working on my car myself, but things happen.

this is the passenger front spring perch, while attempting to remove the compressor after getting it stuck, I extended it into the perch unknowingly and bent up the inner ring to where it has detached on either side. It is at the very edge where the pad meets the perch.

looking for opinions... PLEASE!
and none like "man you're screwed you have to get a whole new perch" I'm hoping someone with experience can offer an opinion.

my main concern is that if left like this the hindered integrity of the punch and stress from the weight of the vehicle will cause the separations to open up more and more until its shot.

now I know a simple answer would be to just throw some welds on there and good as new. Unfortunately I've never welded and don't have a welder either.

therefore, my thought was to use a steel JB weld type product which would be better than nothing

PLEASE DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVISE ON A JB STEEL WELD OR SIMILAR PRODUCT

that could help hold up the integrity.

im not sure if it would make sense to drill holes into the end of the separations on each side to stop them from spreading and then in weld or if that's the best answer overall or if it would make a difference.

hoping in reality, there's enough distribution of weight and force throughout the perch that something this small may not have an impact but out side advice would be great.

Thanks for any opinions or info on this!!!

Im not a "Exert" but
Put it back together, then take it some where and get them to weld it up.

JB steel weld is only good for fixing a broken cast iron fence post spike and the like

Thanks so much for your reply, and that's what I was thinking. Shouldn't cost too much obviously.

Any other thoughts? Anyone think it'll just be fine ? Haha

what about opinions on drilling holes before I put it back and drive it to get it welded?

thanks

No dont drill holes, you will just make it harder for the person who will do the repair

I wouldn't even worry about it. Put it back together and drive it. Re-check every so often until you are convinced it won't spread.

looks fine to me, but still worth getting welded.
