Command 2.0 swap
Hello all,
maybe a stupid question but my command 2.0 has gone out and I want to upgrade it and all the aftermarket head units state (will not work with command 2.0)
What do I all need to replace my system??

I've swapped several head units in Mercedes of this era and the new unit doesn't work "with" COMAND, it replaces it. In a 208, the steering wheel controls still work, they work with BOSE amps or aftermarket amps, the backup camera works, and none of the OE factory wires have to be cut. The only feature that doesn't work is the HU doesn't display information in the TFT gauge cluster display. All the other information does continue to display in the TFT.
The Southwest Star Magazine has run several articles about HU upgrades in Mercedes, and the next issue (end of the month) will cover a soon to be released Sony. Go to www.thesouthweststar.com, look at the head unit swap article from the 1st quarter of 2018. That article covers everything needed to swap out a factory unit with an aftermarket unit.
