Congratulations, the car looks great especially with the quad exhaust. I can feel your excitement and reminds me of when I picked up mine. What a great day that was.

Out Of Control!
Congrats Mark! That car is simply beautiful! Just out of curiousity i'm sure you've driven the new 211 55 how would you compare that acceleration between that and your 209? Which do you think has the better acceleration?
Thanks
Thanks

The acceleration of the two cars are somewhat similar, but the 211 has the edge. That car being a Kompressor and having more torque will give it better take off than my car with no supercharger. The only thing that makes the 2 close is the power to weight ratio, this is where my car picks up a little ground. The 209 is light car compared to the 211, so even thought it only have 362hp it is very quick on its feet. After driving both cars the biggest thing you will notice is that when you start from a standstill in the 211 and floor it, you will get that "snap you back in your seat" feel. When you do the same thing in the 209, the snap is there, but not quite the same severity. Handeling is where my car will leave the 211 behind!!

AMG cars and Cabriolets are not part of the official employee purchase program, so it is looked at on a case by case basis. The Gen. Manager of the store has to okay the deal and will take into consideration the popularity of the car you are getting. The CLK55 is not so hot of a commodity, compared to the SL55. This makes getting the approval a little easier and it also helps if you are on good terms with the GM (sell lots of cars every month).

Got a couple questions.....
Is there a spare tire?
Are the brakes electronic like in the new W211 E class...or are they the same type of brakes in my 2003 CLK55??
Thanks

sweet. Thanks for the quick reply.
I really want to trade up my 2003 for the 2005. What's your honest opinion about that. Am I going to take the shaft on a trade up? I think I still owe the bank about $54K on the car. It only has 9K miles on it. I figure I should be able to get into a 2005 CLK55 and keep the same monthly payments. What do you guys think.
Damn I really want that quad exhaust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does it sound louder than a pre-05 CLK55????

I am very happy with the exhaust note! It is not too overbaring, but has quite a bit of bass in it that put a very big grin on your face as you step on the accelerator! It will let anyone that pulls up beside you know that you have a little something under the hood.

Did you have your dealer paint the lenses for you? Can you still see the light shinning thru at night?

The CLK's tips are so nice and big! :p
No, i had a local body shop paint them for me. They did a great job. Looks like it came that way from the factory. Just make sure they paint the edges good becuase sometimes they dont go 100% flush up against the car, that was you wont see the amber light on the sides.
I did not even try putting the bulb in, i know i got the lenses painted on the CLK and u can see a hint of amber at night when the lights are on. I did not really like the looks of that. So i zip tied the lights inside the bumber and did not put the bulbs in side markers on the C55.
