Smoke from front speaker after car wash
i had no idea a car wash could be a problem, how do I get to that amp to unhook it, where is the water coming from, and when I tried to hook the battery up to roll windows up the car acted completely dead

looks like water went down to the speakers and door module through the window seal.
You can remove the door panel to check & dry everything.
in case you wanted to disconnect the amp, i suggest you remove its fuse if it was easier than disconnecting it.
I read about some other car wash issues, and for mine the passenger rear drain channel was plugged with debris (was an outside California car for 15 years) and the back up led to the rust hole of a trim plug, which was a poor design, and the water leaked onto my amp, shorted it out, and the outlet for that energy was the front dash speaker, which melted itself and into the dash. After the amp dried, the stereo works again except for the center speaker which I removed and am looking for another one. This car was two owner, dealer maintained. I will seal the hole with Por-15 as well as the other trim hole. There is no logical reason to put those near where water drains and over electronics. It certainly could have been much worse.
