So my 2000 CLK55 AMG came with cats for leaded fuel from the factory. ( option 918 )
I'm in the process of restoring the car back to showroom condition.
I would like to replace them with new ones. I have done some research and noticed factory cats are hard to come by so my question is:
Keeping in mind that I want my car catted, what options are available to me?
If I'm not mistaken, the W208 V8 has primary and secondary cats right? How do I go about replacing my cats because I know they are shot from the stench at WOT.
If I remember correctly we have 4 cats, a bit ridiculous if you ask me. Have to tried ebay yet to see if there's any oem on there? I just saved myself some money and replaced my Climate control for much cheaper than it would have cost me to get it new. Might be your best bet, or a euro part website. I'm also dumping money into mine to get her back to basically showroom condition so good luck. Ignore the crack by the fog light. :P
