Like I said, thats what I can afford right now. I have not been blessed with millionnaire money right now, I'm 19 and a student, what did you think I could afford?

If there is a personal problem with my posts, then I would be happy to discuss it through PM. I'm sorry to say but you're tone is slightly offensive.

man u talk about Ferrari 612 Scagiliati, Mclaren F1, Zonda Pagani S, SLRs, and u only have a slk55.

r u for real? So what criteria does one have to meet to be qualified to talk about AMGs? Are there rules regarding other topics? I personally like to talk about pro sports, supermodels and other celebrities, supercars, among other things. I would like to continue talking about these things, however i do not play much sports professionally, haven't dated any supermodels or celebrities, and i only drive a lincoln navigator. I was wondering where i would apply and what my chances of getting approved? thank you!!

Anyways, back to the original topic. the clk pic does kinda look a
photochop. I haven't heard anything else about a clk65 but i think theres a thread about a e65. I think MB should stick with what they have, there always comin out with new engines, making changes to often that they don't let the owners enjoy there vehicles. i guess theres too much competition.

Thanks for the support guys.

The chassis of the CLK is based on the C-class, and for that to support a TT V12 up front, its just ludicrous.

I personally think that Mercedes could be testing performance package modifications to its AMG vehicles, sorta like the SL55 package. Or it could be testing the new 6.3 V8 due to come out late next year? Possibly, there was a rumor that MB plans to make special editions of all its vehicles, the E65 could be a possibility, and a CLK63 with that N/A AMG unit.

Just so many questions!

Your doing well at 19 with the car you have, I'm sure an AMG is in your future! When I was 19 I had a 68 nova with a picnic blanket used for the rear seat upholstery.

Talking

Here's my dime; a bit off subject I apologize:

The kind of car you drive, the lifestyle you lead, the money you have or don't have, has Absolutely no relevance to being a car enthusiast!! Case in point I have longed to have a Lamborghini since I was 10, but can I afford a 330,000 Murcielago - not a chance does that make me any less of a man I think not. Dreams are exactly that; a vision of a perfect world where you have the best of everything whatever it is that you want, everyone's different and thats what makes it unique.

So, I say if you love AMG one day you'll get an AMG it took me 30 plus years but heck I did it!!

As far as the thread I have heard rumors about the 65 as well but MB would be better off with a 6.3 V8 in a C class platform IMO the cost of the engine would drive the price out of the CLK pricepoint. As far as a one time special addition I could see a niche of buyers willing to splurge a bit for exclusivity. However I really don't see the vast majority of CLK owners willing to throw 85-90K on one when you can get an E55 for that pricepoint.

Thats my dime....

Thats the problem. No one will buy a E65 over an SL65. Even if they're priced similarly, the top models will always get more attention than the "ordinary" bottom models, relatively. I don't mean to offend anyone who has these lower end bottom AMG's, if you can call them that, but shoving as massive an engine as you can under the hood is just plain ludicrous.

The 65 engine is an awesome piece of kit, the 55K also. So much so, both of them won consecutive "performance engine of the year" awards. These engines have phenomenal torque and power outputs, but they create one very annoying problem. Weight up front. Such a heavy engine combined with all the additional driveline reinforcement weight, makes for a very nose heavy car, and handling suffers immensely.

I for one would love to see a 4.0 V8 with say twin turbos. Or even more complex, sequential turbos. I know the possibility of this happening is very low but if you always wanted more power, just make titanium con rods and pistons and turn up the boost! It'll make up to be one expensive engine, but boy will it give the M3 and M5 some nightmares. Not to mention the "real" supercars out there.

I know MB builds understeer into the chassis for safety reasons but some people have said that the N/A 5.5 V8 which I think I'm right in saying is mostly aluminium, makes for a heavy engine, so wouldn't a smaller displacement turbocharged engine be more sensible? Porsche have done this, and look what Gemballa, 9ff, RUF, have done with that recipe

Also by sequential turbocharging, the lag would be abolished, awesoem torque and power outputs and only slight weight up front. The rest of the car may require additional strengthening but the blueprints of a fine drivers car may end up in the hands of the boys from Affalterbach!

mb should keep it simple, they got too many models, makes too many changes too often. IMO, alot of the time is bad timing. how long till they come out with new c class? year or two? but they launch a c55 amg to **** off c32 owners. and in 2 years c55 owners will be pissed cuz the new c55 will be out. they make changes in 2005 clk55 to **** of 2004 owners. and as for what they did to 01-02 s/cl55 owners, thats just wrong. mb and other european car companies are starting to follow the japanese trend of outdating their vehicles too quickly. i don't think a e65 would be a good idea. I'm just curious, is the e55 engine the same as all the other 55 engines? if so why the difference in hp rating? less hp but faster?
what i'd like to see is a clk55 with the supercharged engine. how quick woud that be? wouldn't have to make any changes to that for a while.

The 65 should only be in 3 Mercedes cars the Cl, Sl and S because they to are conceded the “flag ships” if Mercedes were to make a 65 in every model it would completely destroy the exclusivity and appeal of the car. The same reason why they only make the 600 in the same 3 models (Cl, Sl, S). I really doughty they will make it but hey I don’t own the company.

Pardon me? Who were you refering to when you said "you" don't have an AMG? I was just stating that when SLK55_AMG said that Bilal "only" has an A170 CDI was pretentious.

I totally agree...when i bought my c (im sorry its not an AMG hahah) anyways i was thinking models would last 10 yrs before redesign...like they used to. I guess cause of competition they are changing them way to fast. However this is a result in the decrease for the design to show room time. It just plain takes less and less amount of time for a car to be developed. Pretty soon they will have it down to a month or even less. However it still takes the same amount of time to produce the required volume and the testing time.

3 Porsche rotation
The latest issue of The Star magazine by Mercedes Benz Club of America, P. 114, stated the future arrival of the E65 and CLK65. This is what the article said:" Although the current CL65 AMG, S65 AMG, and SL65 AMG use a turbocharged V-12, the smaller lighter E65 AMG and CLK65 AMG, seen here during Death Valley testing, are expected to use a more compact, supercharged V-8 of about 475 hp. I think it time to start saving for the next AMG

my SL55 has that same cooler. Trouble is that it is not an intercooler. It is an oil cooler.

That car is teh new 4 cam AMG V8 being tested in the W211 and W209. It was here for warm weather testing and has been at nardo italy many times. Friends and been seeing cars like that in germany for 6 months now.

This bs about turbo W211's and turbo W209's is getting old. No more Bi-Turbo V12's are in the line up after the two over-priced versions sold for 2005. Polution laws will lead that motor to its grave very soon. 4 cam V12's will replace it and may not even need turbos to make 600 hp.
