I am certain with a new OEM air filter and temps in the 50s, I can manage a 13.2....perhaps even find a 110 trap!

No longer car shopping...
I voted...
Having met Chappy in person I felt it was the lest I could do. Everyone else that reads this threead should also vote for him as well. Really quick and easy. No registration needed or anything. Less than 2 seconds time for a good guy!

Took my 2002 CLK55 to Capital Raceway today in Crofton, Maryland. She is bone stock; don't even have aftermarket airfilters. A bunch of guys from this forum rented it for the day, and we had about 15 or so cars show up. This was my first day drag racing. Temp was in the 60's. I got in nine runs, two of which were a waste as a result of too much wheel spin at the line, so I pulled up.
My best time for the day was 13.215, with trap speed of 107.98.
Fastest trap speed of the day was 109.01, with an ET of 13.332.
Of the seven quality runs, my ETs were 13.215, 13.257, 13.332, 13.388, 13.365, 13.343, and 13.463.
I ran without the spare tire and jack, rear wheels were at 28, front wheels were at 45, and I turned the ESP off.
All in all I was pretty pleased.
Fastest vehicle there was a heavily modified GMC Syclone. It got a couple of 10.2 runs. Most of the cars were Benzes, but we also had a Z06 which ran in the low 12s, with two runs in the high 11s. There was a 2002 M3 SMG which had a best time of 13.5. Nicest Benzes were a SL65, a CL600, and some very hot E55's

Out Of Control!!
It was nice meeting you at the track. Your car was pretty fast out there. That Cyclone was just rediculous! The way it would just squat and then take off. That SL65 was really nice too. There were a few E55's in the high 11's and the renntech C32 ran a 12.5 I think. The new Z06 seems like its VERY hard to drive. The 997 S was ok. I cant wait til we do it again in the spring.

Nice meeting you as well. Seems like it was a great bunch of guys, and I hope we can do it again in the spring. I hope to have my car chipped and an aftermarket airfilter by then. Would love to get into the 12's. I forgot about that C32. Yeah, it was surprisingly fast. I was thinking the same thing about the Z06 looking tricky to drive. Looked like he was dumping the clutch early on, but Mike got a couple good launches at the end of the day.

It appears that the fastest time competition is heating up. Slowpoke, it seems you have the honors of the fastest ET and trap to date for a bone stock W208 CLK55. Congrats!

Could you post the slip details, etc. for your best runs?
Glad to have more fanatics on board!!!

Thanks Chappy. I'll see if I can get the slips scanned on Monday at work. Do you scan it into a pdf file and post that?

[QUOTE=slowpoke]Thanks Chappy. I'll see if I can get the slips scanned on Monday at work. Do you scan it into a pdf file and post that?
My scanner is an Epson something-or-other...scan in as an image file, but is too big to post, so I have to resize it. I don't think it's in a .pdf format.
I can't believe that I was edged out by .01 seconds for the fastest trap!
Oh well, next time I'll actually empty the trunk and pump up the front tires....we'll see if that helps.
Slowpoke, what was the temp when you ran?

I don't know exactly, but my guess is probably around 68 degrees. That was the temp when I left for the day.
One one hundreth of one mile per hour doesn't sound like much, I have to admit. I hate to say this Chappy, but in re-reading your post on your 109 mph run, you left the spare in the trunk? My guess is that taking it out would have gotten you at least a couple hundreths, if not tenths.

Here we are a little over two months later. I haven't been back to any track, but dream about the elusive .01 mph trap speed that slowpoke beat me by.
![hammer](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bonk.gif)
Question for coolcarlski: Will 2006 be the year the North vs. South drags commence again? :v Will slowpoke maintain his razor-thin advantage over the rivals in New York and Georgia?
Who will claim top honors for the fastest stock W208 CLK55? Will a stock W209 CLK55 step up to the plate and enter a dog in this fight (pssst....Rafi....lol) ? :p
More importantly, will Chappy get off his azz and put in some fresh OE air filters?
