I recently acquired a 2002 w208 clk55 amg (pictures attached) with the black Designo interior package. after extensive research I have struggled to approximate a number of these cars on the road. Unsure of exactly what I have here as this car was a gift from my father, any insight would be appreciated.
Any CLK with Designo is rare in my book. Pretty much all CLK’s were ordered bare bones so if you see one with any color Designo jump on it I say. What options does it have?

i also consider the designo to be rare for 208 AMG's
I struggle to remember if I've ever seen it on an AMG coupe but to my best knowledge I haven't seen a convertible that does not have the designo

I believe there was 1500 coupes made and 1500 convertibles how many are left...
probably not a lot
my best advice is keep up with leaks/maintenance.
definitely have a good shop do the work.
my coupe was recently at a shop and they jacked up my driveshaft lol
the vert was "fully gone through" by the previous owners mechanic. It has universal coolant which really bugs me.
recently heard of a clk55 vert owner who sold his with 30k miles on it for 10k in 2018...ouch.
had apparently spent 6k with a shop trying to figure out an issue before hand.

Drive it like you stole it! I have the exact same car and I love to drive it. Always makes me grin.

Lol mine at 78k miles really only needs valve covers as well and the rear passenger window makes a little noise every now and again from the regulators which should be addressed.
Little issue with passenger seat motor and heated seats but should be relatively simple.
amazing cars my coupe just hit 192k miles and is great.
plan on keeping the mileage on the vert low, not a bad idea seems prices will only go up. I would try and keep it under 60k miles and hopefully if clean and nice could snag close to $20k if not more in next couple years
