W209 CLK55 Drive Side Rear Window

This weekend I am tackling the driver side rear window that does not go down. Before ordering any parts I thought I'd take it apart to see if it "fell" off it's track... A few hours and some back and forth of 2-3 different youtube videos I was able to remove the the rear panel which is super easy and quick.

Rear Door Panel Removed.

I removed the seat belt mechanism that comes out when you start the car which is broken not sure if I can just replace the motor or the whole assembly Part # 203-860-01-82

The reason for the window not operating was the the plastic cam pieces inside where worn and broken and the wires looked beat a long with some broken plastic pieces.

I was able to find a repair kit on Ebay for $30
https://www.ebay.com/itm/224759095854

It's a set going to keep the right one handy in case that one decides to fail in the near future which from what I understand is common.

I am going to clean the door panel as well and maybe try some of that Clyde leather color/reconditioning or if anyone else has any suggestions I am open to it.

Thanks

Good work - do you have to drill out any rivets or anything, or is it all screws/bolts/nuts/etc?

It's all nuts and bolts... I would recommend some PB Blaster or WD-40 on some of the nuts than an impact for them to come off especially the ones holding the window regulator those where a pain to remove at first but some lube a few minutes and impact and came right off.

From the instructions I am seeing, they have you taking all the back seats out. It looks like you just took the rear panel off that covers the regulator. Is this correct? Thank you
