im a newbie here and dont yet have a 55 but i was looking at ebay motors last night and saw a black 55 with wood grain. you should check it out to see what you think. i dont think you will like it as much as the satin trim. just doesnt seem to belong there. actually i didnt know you could even get it. but i guess you can.....

I agree, after seeing the wood grain in a blue CLK55 , the aluminum satin is a much better for the car it is.
