h&r on clk55
I found out that eibach does not make springs for the clk55. So, I'm planning to get h&rs. I spoke to the h&r rep and he told me that their springs are 30% stiffer than stock.
The springs on the clk55 are already beefed up and
the ride is pretty firm.
Has anyone with a clk55 installed the h&rs and if so, what kind of a ride are you experiencing?
What other alternatives do I have...(I don't track the car)?
Thanks guys..

I went with the H&R sport springs and the Koni shocks and #2 pads front and rear. I set the shocks on the soft setting. I am very pleased with the ride. The handling is much better than stock. If you like the handling now you will love it. I was also very concerned about it being to stiff. With the adjustable shocks the ride is firmer but not bad at all. This is coming from a guy that has had 2 back surgeries. The only thing I might have done different is go with #3 pads. The look of the car is incrdible but it is very low. Have to be much more careful around town. My .02 cents worth.

Norcal:
Thanks for your input....I was really worried in that I would be replacing the stock amgs with 'inferior' springs OR not necessarily inferior, but not up to par of the amgs.
Would it be difficult for you to post some pics of your ride from the side...only if it is not too much trouble.
Chappy:
I'm just looking to lower the car. I got 18" wheels now and I have about 2" gap in the rear and a 2.5" gap up front. I don't think I want to change out the shocks since the car only has about 31k miles. I'm don't intend to track the car either, just some spirited driving for fun. I feel I'm good for about at least 15-20k miles left on them...if need be, I'll change them out sooner.
I recall you changed out yours with European amg sports springs, how much of a F/R gap do you have now?
Your input is appreciated

Chappy: I saw the pics. Our car has the same color and wheels.
I also saw the b4 and aft pics. Thanks for the pics.
Norcal: Since I ordered the H&R today, I guess, when I get them installed
my car will drop similiar to yours. I'm going to check what pads I currently have on now and buy the appropriate ones so that I can install them at the same time.
Btw, would you both respond on how many hrs did the shop bill you to install the springs and pads?
PS: I'm getting some rotex brake pads installed at the same time. I decided to go with them instead of the porterfields..for my mercedes dot com wanted $240 for the f/r. I got the rotex for $177 f/r to the door.
Thanks again!!! I'll post pics as soon as I get them installed.
