CLK 63 Black Exhaust upgrade
Seems that the CLk 63 used in the F1 races have a different exhaust system which is a bit louder and of course more power.
This is not an after market piece but amg parts. Looking to see if there is any interest in pursuing as I have the source.
I need a count of the general interest level first before I can get pricing. With 350 cars to be imported, my guess is at least 10% would step up for a little more power with the exhaust. A 30-35 build set would be cheaper than two which is just you and me presently.
This is the same system used on the CLK 63 F1 pace car and is a bolt on for the CLK 63 Black Series. Yes, it has duel tips each side. I am told it requires a reflash on the ecu. The supplier and distributor have asked me to determine what the interest level is before they commit $ to building more units. The quoted power improvements are from a very credible source, I can't disclose names. Looks like its going to be at least 90 days if there is suffiecient interest.

How many CLK63 F1 cars do you think there are. I'd say not more than 5. If the headers and and exhaust are custom built for these cars how many extra headers and exhaust do you think they built? My answer is how about two.
Now Amg says, hey maybe there's a market for the stuff in the USA but we can't go through normal dealer channels we'll have to have a distributor. What is the interest level? So I go on the net and ask.
So let me restate a simple question.
Would you have interest in a system (headers and exhaust) that produced 40 more hp in a CLK63 bs.(only).The answer is yes or no. They are not on a shelf waiting to be sold, like K&N filters its a custom part.

I'd be interested in 40 more Horse Power... Thats why I bought the car..!
I'm going to USGP race at Indy in a week. I'll be with some MB types and I'll try to get some photo's.
Amg is very conservative in their ratings and these are not optimistic numbers. According to my source (who has no financial interest in this) the system is headers and exhaust. The ecu must be reset and will be sent to germany with quick turn around time. Unlike forced induction, exhaust is really the only area where you will see any gains without changing cams.
I put you down for a yes.
