Just try your local dealer, he should be able to take an order.

............no special leads needed. Even the SLR can be bought from your local dealer. I think they can manage a CLK.

My dealer has one allocation and four orders. You may want to call around. May not be as easy as you think to get one.....

The dealer has to be allocated the cars for you to be able to order them. Not all dealers will get one

That is the what I have been encountering. I suspect those that responded with try your local dealer probably haven't tried to get their hands on a spot yet. I have a spot with Germain MB up in Ohio a long way away from my local dealer in Houston.

Well bmoores, That's very interesting! That happens to be the dealer where I am supposedly first on their list! I spoke to the GM there. He called me on a cold call basis when a friend of mine told him my sickness for cars. After promising me their first BE, he then turned me over to a salesman who has been keeping in constant touch with me. He called me about 3 weeks ago to verify what color I wanted and any options I might want if some were available.

The spot you have..... what position did they tell you that you have?

I met a guy from Ohio at the USGP at Indy who's got a 599 & 430 says he's a friend of yours named Jim. Told him he needed an AMG for his collection. See if you can get him the the AMG fold. Couldn't close the deal we ran out of gin.

I know one guy up here who has a F430 Spider but I'm not familiar with anyone (Jim) who has a 599. Besides if I did, I'd probably go over his house and steal the car! Mags

Most dealers are only get one allocation, which is most likely pre-sold. We have our one and it's gone...good luck, I heard a rumor that MB was only making 250 now, instead of the 350 originally planned.

What is the source of your information? Fletcher Jones the largerst MB dealer is getting eleven allocations. I spoke to Volker Mornhinweg the CEO of AMG Sunday and he said 350 cars to the US 700 world wide. There is an additional ten cars to be delivered at the factory (in Affalterbach) that does not come off the dealer's allocation.
