CLK DTM AMG/CLK 63 Black Series Question

Hi, Can anyone in the know tell me if the new Black Series rear suspension is a carry over from the CLK DTM AMG? Some underside photos of either or both would be appreciated. I have read up on both, but you can`t conclusively find out that way.
Cheers.

I could not tell you...why do you want to know? Are you thinking about an upgrade? If so why bother with OEM stuff? There are much better after market suspension systems available. I have already changed my springs and dependant on how I feel after a few more track days I may upgrade the entire system, but as far as stock suspension goes, it's pretty good, with some decent adjustability.

Hi, I was thinking about buying either car later in the year. Wnted to know if the suspension was the same on both cars. If it was, then the 63 might look better value possibly. I like to know these things, having an engineering mind and all that. I love the look of the DTM and would just have to track it as that`s what it`s for! I take it the rear axle on the 63 is nothing like my ordinary 209 CLK 55 AMG?

Buy the Black Series, for the $250,000 you will save you can build it into a DTM killer like I did with mine... and still have $200,000 in the bank. The last time I looked DTM's were fetching $300-$400k. A stock BS already out brakes a DTM, pulls more G's on the skid pad than a DTM and is within 2 tenths 0-60. The DTM is a bit more rare and elite, but is that worth $200,000 to you? Only you know the answer to that question. To me it was an easy choice, I could afford either one, I just chose to spend my money a little more wisely.

The Black has KW suspension developed specifically for the CLK63 black. I can tell you having raced against CLK DTM's the black is faster through the corners and only gives up a little to the DTM's on the longer straights due to its more powerfull supercharged engine.

If you have the dough, how about you wait for the SL Black Series? You're bound to get the latest and greatest in DTM/AMG chasis technology.

The SL is a fine car, but it is bigger and heavier and not my thing. The CLK is as big as I want or need. It also has better visability than the E46 M3 and feels more compact.

There are only 5 or 6 in the country and they cost $300K or more. Here is a link to one that is for sale but they are asking $425K as far as I know but that includes federalization so the car could be driven on the street. This only only has something like 2K miles.

I had arranged to buy and bring in a DTM. However, the federalization process would have dropped the power below mere mortal M-Bs (low 300's for hp). Further, there were limits on how much one could drive each year. Low volume, low power, high price, with use restrictions -- I didn't see sufficient value in that.

The BS feels to me like 9.5/10ths of a DTM and I love it!

I doubt federalization would have dropped the HP that much...even if it had it would be very easy to change back to stock HP numbers once you get the proper paperwork to make it legal here. Sounds like a bad excuse to me.
