The stigg said he could do it in an M3 and got it on the first try.
Exactly! Thank you!!! This is what I am referencing.

Also Clarkson has owned 2 AMG's so far. He started with an SL55 then after testing the SLK55 he sold the SL and bought an SLK55.

Any bets how long before he has a CLK63 Black in his stable of cars!!

Because they drove it in a more realistic scenario? You are kidding right? Do you drive your car around a track everyday or do you drive it on the crazy roads with the rest of the crazy women SUV driving, cell phone dialing, soccer moms? If you know all about the car already, then you should already know how it performs at the track.

Here is the hard part for everybody:
It's not about the numbers.
There will always be a car faster to 60.
There will be cars that can turn a faster lap
There will be cars with a higher top speed.

But, they won't feel better, or offer more to a driver who wants car control. If you want the computers to win the lap time award, get the GTR.
If you wnat horsepower, get the Viper
If you need awd to drive in snow, get a Porsche
But, if you want something that feels great on the street, and takes to the track with a vengence, but can be driven downtown for dinner, and fits your tennis bag in the trunk, and has quality and built like a tank, and can be serviced at a zillion nearby places, then your choices get a bit limited.
Clarkson has driven enough cars to know that the final .3 seconds on 0-60 are irrelevant in street driving, and how a car feels can't be captured in a graphic. There are paintings bigger than the Mona Lisa, paintings brighter, paintings cheaper, so why aren't those in the Louvre? Ask Clarkson. AS
