A good friend of mine is a BMW nut. He's got 4 E30's (2 full race), an E36, E90, E92 and a blown E46.
His E46 is very nice, blower, headers, tuning lighweight wheels and HUGE Brembo brakes, PSS10's, etc. The car is very well sorted out, agile, quick and very fun to drive - He and I ran together for a little fun one day - me in my Black Series...He could stay close to me in the twisties but as soon as there was any sort of straightaway I was gone. As this progressed, I would pull further and further away until I could no longer see him and had to slow down. He and I are pretty equal drivers too. So, that gives you a good idea of how a blown E46 compares to a stock Black Series.

You must be running stage 1 Sc'ers or something. A stock BS doesnt even hit 120mph trap speeds. And if u compare that to a healthy running, SC these days. The trap speeds are in the 120's? Has anyone on this board been to the track in a stock BS so we can get a baseline idea here, instead of going off of what top gear, says there ET and trap are.
EDIT - Spoke to my buddy. He has an Active Autoworks blower and ~500hp at the flywheel. I've driven it a few times and it is very quick, but no match for the Black Series.

Not sure about his blower - he said he was making something like 450hp. Furthermore, I have absolutly no interest in any discussion regarding trap speeds or drag strips - neither the M3 or the Black Series were built as straight line drag cars.

It's not on the car yet, but a small kit is coming. Nothing too over the top, the car has serious traction issues in it's currrent state of tune, I am hoping the addition of the new Mickey Thompsons allow for use of a 50-100shot of NOS.
As for the challenger with the M3, I assume he is full of bull sh_t, he won't tell anyone what he has done to his M3...like he owns some top secret BMW prototype super M3 or something. All my mods are out there for the whole world to see...hell there is an enitre thread of the build-up of my car. He can see my dyno numbers and every single mod made, yet he can not man up and say what he has done to his car. My guess is he's full of hot air, might not even own an M3.

I was talking with Evosport about doing a NOS kit when they did my other work last winter, but I decided to hold off and see what we got with the extra 100 or so rwhp they delivered. I wanted to see if the car could handle the extra power and not be breaking stuff. Now that I see the car is capable of handling the power and I have a set of drag slicks the next logical step is some NOS. I have been talking with a local shop that does a lot of NOS on full blown drag racers, but he also has a section of his shop that caters to higher end luxo cars and has done NOS on everything from M3's to a F360. He owns a Bentley Flying Spur with NOS that runs high 11's...pretty crazy stuff. They do great work and is only minutes away from my house.

MACH5 ran a 12.115 @ 118.70 mph in his bone stock Black Series. The best I could manage when stock was 12.21 @ 116.90mph. Let us know your drag times. The BMW's that post on drag times show about 11.8 at 120 with superchargers. 450-500 hp in a 3400 lbs car is still less than your BS in the power to weight. BTW, I'll run the fool with the BMW on a road race track (Willow Springs) I'm in SoCal. Five laps, the S/C bimmers go into major heat sink after two lap, especially with a 12:1 compression on a hot day. Max boost is about 6lbs and without good fuel and on a hot day they turn into a nickel rocket. I see it all the time, puking their internals all all over the asphalt. It gets even better when they spray, they last about one lap.

New track record on Nurburgring go to the BMW M3 "CSL" with the times of 7.22.04 (that's faster then the new Corvette "ZR1" times of 7.26.04 and 2009 Nissan GT-R times of 7.29.03). I think the Clk 63 "BS" best time was in the 7.3x.xx.
