On topic, Mr B: Buy one, pay a lot for it and then tell everyone. Help keep the values high... (er). Seriously, coming out of an M3, the torque alone will blow you away. I've only had mine for ~8 months and it still puts a smile on my face. Thought about selling it but came to my senses. Good luck.

Buzz, since this guy isn't buying, derailing the thread won't hurt.
Where do you see the market bottoming ... or has it bottomed?
Just as interesting as a number, is your logic.
Anyone else may feel free to take a shot.
The best bottom picker 1 year from now gets .... stinky fingers.

Otherwise, it loses 40K in year one, 15K in year 2, then 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, assuming limited use.
Personally, I think the most cost-effective use is as many miles as you can drive a year for as many years as you can. There will not be anything better for a long time. AS

I am definitely a buyer at a price I'm comfortable with.

Actually my M3 has 622 rwhp and 4xx in torque. I'd have to look at the dyno sheet to confirm exact torque #'s.
So, needless to say, this isnt about speed for me.
Its more about owning such a limited production car that seems to be unbelievably well rounded.

Edit: There's a Black one with 120 miles in Autoweek for 99.9.

With all due respect, I think you are reading into that a bit too much.
I could very well go out and buy one tomorrow if I'd like.
It just might not be the most practical move for me since I don't have a disposable income as I'm assuming some that bought the car may have.
I've been known by my personal friends to go ahead and "just do it".
So as I said.... time will tell.
I'm in no hurry, and from what I see happening in the economy and
business in general, time is on my side.
I will definitely post here with pics when the day comes.
Maybe you can congratulate me then.

AS, I was actually referring back to your comment on the economic indicators and wondering about the stock market.

I will be pleased to congratulate you whether you buy it or not. I'm sure your choice will be the right one for you since you seem to be deliberate in the process.

First, I am a doctor, so therfore certified as a stock market idiot. But, I am also a group practice CEO (57 providers), so I pay attention to the local economy, and have learned to read.
My info on heavy manufacturing is from the horse's mouth. Steel orders for January are zero (yes, nothing, nada, zilch). If a Best Buy report can send the market into a skid, I can't fathom what a huge RIF in steel will do.
The stock market makes no sense to me any more, and I have a serious concern about manipulation, as these huge up/down cycles suggest somebody pouring money in, waiting for a surge, then dumping out.
So, in summary, I don't think we have seen the bottom yet, nobody can figure it out, somebody really rich (?? overseas) is likely getting really richer, and we won't really know how bad it's getting til April or thereabouts.
(Remember, I am a congenital harbinger of doom). Finally, I would love to be dead wrong. AS

I'd love to pick one of these up one day. I'm not much a fan of the CLK body, but Clarkson called it the most tail happy car he's driven, and I prefer having the funnest car to the fastest car around a track.

Sorry, I have been away from the computer a few days. I live in Naperville and own one, let me know if you want to stop by and take a look. Mine is pretty heavily modded so it might not give you a honest representation of a stock Black, however, even in bone stock form it is an amazing car...I'm just a little crazier than your average car guy.

Aleksander, I think I'm on the edge of "much crazier" you need to check out my car now, it's a different animal than the last time you saw it. I have added lots of goodies (and hp) since Morocco and cut a couple hundred pounds at the same time. Are you going to MIR next weekend?

I have heard their dyno running over the past week or so, I own the building at the corner of Clow Creek and Wolfs Crossing, that is my shop where all my semis get serviced, it's about 4-5 buildings down from Fluid Motor Union. You will drive right past my shop to get to their shop. Maybe I will see you there.
