Anyone know the dealer cost to CPO a Black Series?
When I deal on my BS I want the dealer to make it a CPO vehicle. I would like to know about what it costs the dealer to make it a CPO, meaning the car has 3 year 47K miles of OEM warranty right now and I want to know what it will cost the dealer to add 1 year and 100K miles of CPO warranty? I know it costs additional for every year I would add to that 1st year, if you also know that cost that information would be great.

I thought that MB requires the car to be at least 2 years old before it qualifies for CPO plan, my Black Series was on the first shipment to North America and I took delivery in September of 2007 so that has only been 15 months, you are going to have to wait about 9 months more unless I am mistaken on my CPO facts.

I don't know for sure whether your info is correct or not but I know I've seen several used BSs listed FS with a CPO notation in the ad. Here is one currently on cars.com

Not sure I can help here but I've been told it usually costs anywhere between $1,500 and $3,000 depending on how long (or if) it takes them in labor $ to inspect and whether or not repairs need to be made while going through the check list. I say IF they go through the check list b/c we just bought an Audi S8 from Fletcher Jones in Chicago and the very first thing on the check list was the # of keys. Box checked for appropriate number and only one shows up with the car..... On a low mileage BS it should be all labor and I would think on the low side to do the inspection unless there is/was damage somewhere..... My guess would be $1,500 - $2,000?

One of the R8s on eBay:

There are also several 2008 BMWs on eBay with CPO warranties (FS by dealers) like this one:

Was going to buy an M5 at one point and was told BMW didn't offer CPO on M series cars but now I see an M5 on eBay listed as CPO so who knows.....

You got me thinking about this so I did a couple quick searches on eBay for CPO warranties. I'm not for sure what's what about CPO warranties but there are more than a few 2008 MY Audis on eBay with stated CPO warranties including a couple R8s. The S8 we bought is less than 2 years old and it is a CPO car (maintenance no longer included on any Audi).

What is the dealer telling you? Have you tried calling another dealer? Are you positioning to get the dealer to ad the CPO at their expense?

...hmmmm, I don't know what to say. I know for a fact the BMW does not offer CPO on a 2008 because I was just trying to buy one about 3 weeks ago and got the same story from 3 different dealerships. I just made a call to my friend who is GM of a large Audi dealership and he said the car need to be 2 model years old before it will qulify for a factory CPO. He warned me that dealerships will sell aftermarket CPO extended warranties though 3rd parties, but they are not Audi/VW backed.

Only one dealership in Kansas City, no one to call. That is why I am asking members on this board for information. I don't want to negociate the deal and get screwed on the CPO cost because I don't know the dealers costs.

Have you tried posting in another forum? Obviously nobody here knows? You might also try 6speed? I would call a dealer in another market, dealer costs should be similar? Good luck.
