Geico Warranty?

Hey All,

I just took out the insurance policy for the CLK BS and was told by the rep that they offer a 7 year/100K mile warranty that covers anything except for maintenance. And the cost of this warranty is only $16 for 6 months.

Now this seems too good to be true but I figured that it's worth the risk so I signed up. Does anyone have any experience or know anything about whether this is for real?

Yes, have used it before...really easy to use, and just have to pay the deductible of your choice. You're supposed to call the Mechanical breakdown depart. first to report the claim, but didn't know I would need to file the claim until the dealership told me the price, but Geico took care of it anyways.

Any small print exclusions...like track use? I got the MB warranty which is transferable and they will refund your money if you sell the car during the regular warranty period.

I haven't read the fine print yet. But it's only $16 so I figured I'd get it as a "backup" in case the dealers ever give me a hard time. I'm going to try to extend the factory warranty to 7 years/100K miles as well so it will be easier to sell if need be (who knows where this economy will lead).

But I'm going in tomorrow so I'm going to try to see what they can do on the factory warranty. Hopefully I can get them to throw it in to seal the deal...but if they give me a decent discount on it, I'd be fine with that too.

Thanks for the feedback. The rep I spoke with told me it's a $250 deductible. Are there other options that I'm not aware of?
