Shift knob question

Hey Everyone,

So I decided to take the car out to the city last night and drove it mostly in 1st and 2nd gear. I noticed at some point that the shift knob felt really hot...to the point where I didn't feel comfortable putting my hand on it. Haven't noticed this before but just wondering if it's normal.

It's normal for mine, so I use the paddles.

Damn...I like shifting with the knob when driving local. Oh well...time to go buy an "oven mitt" I suppose. Jk.

Very normal for the knob to get hot as it is sitting right on top of the the drive shaft and part of the exhaust system. A remedy for keeping the temp down would be to try 3rd and 4th gear as well. Less revs, less exhaust, hence less heat. Just my $.02

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I drove it 120 miles today highway and it was fine so I guess I was just driving it too hard in 1st and 2nd gear. But I'm up to 400 miles now and plan to start modding it at 1000. Hopefully I won't have to break in the Quaife too. Then I might have to shoot myself...

Congratulations. Nice choice of color. I also have a White Black. In my opinion the best color. Although I like the black, red and silver ones too. Enjoy in good health.
