When I ordered my BS I was told there were no Designo options for the BS so now I am confused. Are there registered BS's out there with factory paint in colors other than the "standard" colors? I would likee to see some pics of these "factory customs".

JR,
The only "proof" I had was an M-B Dealer's listing from Boerne, Texas on AutoTrader which was on the internet back on March 2, 2009. As I remember it, I think I also checked the link to the dealer's website.
Since this is the only example of a CLK63 Black Series being painted "Designo Espresso" that I have heard of, I could see how it could easily have been a posting error made by the dealership, but what I have shown is exactly what was posted on AutoTrader.
Could easily be a case of "garbage in, garbage out." Maybe we will hear from the owner of this vehicle so we can find out what color it really is.
No matter what color it is, it can't be as good looking as your amazing car.

There is a factory matte silver clk 63 bs that Scott (PL website guy) got from AMG. His connections with the factory made it possible. He mentioned that it was the only deviated paint in the USA.

He has some pics of it over on the PL site, and to be honest, I really couldn't tell the difference over the regular silver...perhaps it was just the photos and in person it stands out more.

Scott and his CLK BS were at Road Atlanta yesterday - it does stand out when next to "regular" silver cars. It's hard to describe it, but I would say it looks like someone wet sanded a regular silver car. That probably makes it sound bad, but in actually, it is a very striking car in person.

There is a matte dark red one rolling around my parts but its an aftermarket paint job, lambo factory color I guess, the guy actually owns a collision autobody shop. Matte red with matte black wheels, red calipers and black alcantara with dark red stitching. I ran into the guy in a mall parking lot, I told him to check out this site and post pics.

Did some digging for you. By using the VIN, I found the the "Designo Espresso" shows that this car is actually . . . Black . . . Regular Black, not Obsidian Black.
There is also another car listed as being "Cactus Mica" in color. That one checks out as being Iridium Silver.
So now there's one less thing in the world to be concerned about. . .

Mine (244078 / AMG 000539) actually has a October 2007 build date and it does have TPMS.
The system does not display tire pressures in each wheel, it will only give you an alert if one of the sensors transmits a pressure reading that varies by some percentage (I presume 10%) either higher or lower than the settings that you have put into the system.
Not nearly as as informational as the system on my 2004 CL55 that displays a readout of the pressures in each tire.

On the older discussions of Manufacturer Year and Model year (being interchanged with the same "MY" quotes), a Manufacturer Year of 2007 could be a 2008 Model Year vehicle, and an early Manufacturer year of 2008 would still be a Model Year of 2008?
Just random thoughts.
Specs on mine are Silver, iPod, MB#248677 and AMG676, build date of 12/07 and has TPMS.

Model year production cycles usually start in September of the previous year to around July of the model year.
All Black Series are designated MY 2008.

I have pretty much most of the mags that reviewed the CLKBS and they interchanged the Model year as 2007 in one, 2008 in another so that did not help either .
I always thought it was a 2008, offered in mid to late 2007 to the normal public (those with connections (and mags for testing) finding ways to score it sooner), and later in early 2008 till whatever the spread sheet is showing .
We on the same wavelength?

Here's a list of VIN's and build dates that I have found on the internet.
Attachment 181157
If you should have corrections (I am sure there will be a few) or additions, let me know, and I will incorporate them into this list.

The lowest VIN that I have on the list is 228641. I believe that this car was built in 04/07.
I show yours as being built in 10/07. Is that correct? Also could you let me know what your AMG serial number is? It should be listed on the sticker with the VIN. It should read like this: AMG2093771Y000XXX.
If you send that to me, either here or by Private Message, I'll add the details to the database.
