CLK 63 AMG Black Series Club
I am new this site and was wondering if there is a CLK 63 Black Series Club?? I have a confirmed email from AMG advising me that only 349 of these cars were built and shipped to the US. It would be a great idea to keep in touch as a club. I believe that at least 15 of these car have been totaled already.
It has probably already been done but can any one give me any guidance if they have heard of such a club?
In addition I wish that owners of these cars wold not try to sell there Black Series for so cheap, which decreases the value of this car. This car is truly a bad *** car and is very rare. Lets remember that for those of us that own them.

No club as of yet.
Where did you get your numbers again. PL confirmed 349? There is a thread on the PL and the number was stated as 367? Also interested in where you got that 15 have been totaled? Interesting stuff.
I agree with your last statement about owners selling them too cheap..... Especially if there are now 15 fewer than there was in 2008.

I can send u the email from Mercedes Benz. I contacted them via phone and dvised them that i was a owner and a collector and wanted to know how many were actually shipped to US. They contacted me after several weeks and sent me an email advising of the the 349 shipped. They could not tell me what number my car was. I don't have enough pull for that.
In addition I was advised by a car dealer at Schumacher Mercedes Benz in Scottsdale AZ that he himself knew of 15v of the cars that were totaled out. I don't know the validity of the the information but the are all stand up guys.
IF I CAN figure how to send u the email I will. DO U HAVE email address so I can that send u the email?? I tried to cut and past the message here buy was not letting me past it in.

Welcome to the site 4.
The last 6 digits of your VIN will tell you where your car fell in the production run.
Since MB won't help, it will take an awful lot of detective work to figure it out.

The clk bs is a 2007 model, not 2008 so I'm a bit confused that MBZ would make that mistake in a letter. I know of 2 cars that have been totaled both by the same kid who used to post here but has since vanished ( guess mommy took the keys away). LOL.
I wouldn't doubt that at least 15 of these cars have been totaled. It's an unforgiving car in the wrong/ novice hands.

The 10th character in your VIN represents the model year. (They were all built in 2007.)
Mine is 8, anyone else?

I believe the car is listed as a 2008 model by MB, with some of the earlier cars released in late 2007. My car was sold in July of 07 listing it as a 2008 model. This is similar to some other car manufactures that want to release a new model early.

I bought my car used and am keeping it for a VERY LONG TIME. Have u guys seen the top gear link? They did a great review.
Jeremy say's in the video that the car came with a warning letter from MB. Does anyone have a copy of that letter that I can get a copy of to keep with the car. MB advised that they don't have it. Maybe that was just on the European version??
Look up in U-Tube under for "Top Gears CLK 63 AMG Black Series Video review" they did a great video review and test drive on this car.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Mine says 2008, I took delivery in very early September of 2007, I know for a fact that mine was one of the first 7 Black Series shipped into the states, most of the othes did not arrive for an additional 3 or 4 weeks, mine came over with a few "testers" for AMG techs to practice on. Luke if yours says 2007 its an instant collectors item, as far as I know the only 2007 Black Series was an SLK BS.

When you say your car was "sold" in July of 2007 do you mean delivered or just ordered? There is no way anyone took delivery of a BS in July of 2007, ordered could not even be placed until late June, I was at my dealership with a check in hand weeks before these car could be officially ordered and I was back in the dealership the morning they could be officially ordered signing papers. I received one of the first cars in early September, so I can't believe yours got delivered in July of 07.....IMPOSSIBLE!!!!! In fact I was at the US GP in Indy in July of 2007 speaking with MB and AMG people while I was sitting in the safety car asking them what was going to differ from the safety car to the BS and asking them if any BSls were at the track and they said there were not any in the country yet.

WHT BS
To the best of my knowledge they were all produced in 2007 and sold as MY2008. Luke, i am pretty sure that your car is also a MY 2008. If I were you, I would run out and take a look at my window sticker right now. ( knowing you, I am certain you still have your window sticker nearby)

all I know is that Schumacher MB shows the delivery date as Sept 30, 2007 Production date is listed as July 19, 2007 and my factory warranty ends in Sep 29, 2011. The last six of my VIN# 236982.
Can u possibly tell me what number BS my car is with the last six of vin and the production/delivery date.

There's an AMG sticker in the door panel right below the MB info sticker.
The AMG sticker on mine shows a serial number ending in 000384.
My MB VIN ends in 239272 and it was made in August 07.
The comment earlier about detective work suggests you'll have to match a bunch of VIN's and get some help from the Private Lounge to figure out where yours falls.
Maybe it's as simple as the AMG serial number ...... naaaah!

I heard the following when I tried to figure out my production number.
As the CLK Blacks were produced at the same time as the regular CLK's, the VIN numbers are all jumbled up.
It would seem that the CLK Blacks were not all produced in a single run.
