Happy Birthday
3 year / 36,000 miles or in my case 3 year / 7900 miles. 7900 fun and trouble free miles.
Is it???? I thought it was 3 yrs, because my dealership has been calling me like mad trying to sell me an extended warranty telling me that it expires on 9/13/10
...would not suprise me in the slightest that a dealership does not have a clue
I will have to dig up my paperwork to know for sure. Not like it really matters anyway, my car is so heavily modded that I still can't believe they have warrantied 100% the handful of little things that they have had to repair. My point was just that it always seems things "break" as soon as the warranty expires.

Punching cars before they were really sold was pretty common when Porsche's still had 2 year/unlimited miles warranties, as it earned the dealers more cars for the next allocation from the factory.

Although I've owned many porsche's, I've begun to see though much of the crooked dealer network, which is mostly at odds with the factory and the lengths they go thought to decline warrantee work. Given that porsche makes more per vehicle than any other manufacturer says volumes about what they think of their customers.

Jim, will we see you at Famoso this year? I've started the thread in the W211 section.

BMW dealers tackle the problem differently. If you have a Canadian VIN, you get scheduled in right away. If you have a US VIN, you get scheduled in 3 weeks later.
. I figured warranty would be a non-issue since my car has been modded so much but there has been a handful of VERY small things (AC condensor unit and tail light/brake pedal relay) that they have covered no questions asked. Furthermore the dealership is well aware of my mods and they go out of there way to make sure they don't plug in for "updates" that might flash my ECU back to stock. Whether the warranty stuff comes from the dealer or MBUSA or a combo of both they have earned a customer for life. BMW and Cadillac both voided my warranty on an M3 and CTS-V (for a old air intake LOL) for "after market modifications"
I should think that MBUSA would want to give you a lifetime warranty on your car in exchange for all of the publicity that you have generated with your highly modified car.
You took a car that was considered "over the top" at the time, and then proceeded to take it to a level that most of us fantasize about, but would never actually do them to our cars.
I'm sure your car whipped up a lot of enthusiasm for the brand.
